Sarah contacted a Dachshund rescue number, and they left a message on my machine while I was in China. I called immediately upon my return, and the following Saturday, we went to see three dogs. Rudi was "Rusty" when we got him; this is Rusty romping on the grass at his previous home near Sacramento. I fell in love with him the minute I saw him.
I can't get a really good picture of him, so this is an interim picure.
He is very cuddly and affectionate with me, but he can be pretty aggressive in snapping and barking at anything that surprises him. I hope I can teach him to be more selective about who he decides to threaten. |

This is a beautiful view of his face. He has lovely dark eyes., but very funny ears; they are always sort of cocked at an angle away from his head.
Below are three more tries...He is really a beautiful little dog. He has a way of looking like he wants nothing more in life than to please me, and most of his actions seem to bear that out. The two lower pictures demonstrate that look.
I think Rudi is part penguin! For a series of one of his sitting shows, click here. Some more recent photos will be here; as I said somewhere, he is very photogenic! |
