My tofu boards were too tempting for the visitors. They had to have a guard sit right next to it, so that people wouldn't touch them.

I shared a studio with Rudy Autio. It was an honor to work with him for a week. We had a good time watching him paint on a large vessel. There were another four Korean artists and one Japanese artist working in a studio adjacent to ours. We were all given an assistant to help us if we needed anything and they cleaned the studio for us every day. Visitors came in and watched us working throughout the day.
One of the Korean artists was a traditional potter. He made a huge container out of coils, with just a paddle and his hands. It took only one day to make the container. The studio door was not big enough to move out the three jars he made, so the organizers had to take the door down after we left to bring the jars out to the kiln. |

| Most of the artists there donated the work we made during the workshop. The officials were happy about this and took us to dinner many times.
Korean food is delicious, so we pigged out all the time. The noodle with ice soup (yes, really!) is very special - I had it many times for lunch when it was hot outside. |
